10th Annual Farmer's Cay Class "C" Regatta |

Farmers Cay Festival A rendezvous for yachtsmen who cruise Exuma Island combined with a homecoming for those from Farmer’s Cay. Boat excursions depart Nassau at Potter’s Cay for the 24-hour festival. Activities include: land and sea races, Hermit Crab races and chicken run, a treasure hunt, wet T-shirt competition, disco dancing and exciting team and children events - food & beverage will be on sale. Boat excursions depart Nassau for the festival at 8:00 p.m. from Potter's Cay (M/V Etienne & Cephas mail boat), on Thursday, February 6, and return to Nassau at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, from Farmer's Cay Dock. Mrs. Corene Alydice Moxey – BainThe late Corene Alydice Moxey – Bain was born in little Farmer’s Cay Exuma, the daughter of the late Captain Henry Moxey and Hattie Nixon – Moxey. She was the soul of little Farmer’s Cay. She wore many hats, she was versatile on this island; she was dock mistress, Post mistress, Secretary of St. Mary’s Baptist Church, she even acted as sexton of the church and rang the bell on Sunday when there was a need, she also kept Sunday church meetings when the pastor of the church was off the island. Corene Bain was the first entrepreneur of Ocean Restaurant (where the opening will take place). Ocean Restaurant is now owned by her son Terry “Kadaffi” Bain. Mrs. Corene Bain was married to the late Stafford Lamont Bain a son of the soil as well, and together they has ten children; Anthony Bain, Terry Bain, Canon Harry Bain of Freeport, Patrick “Billy” Bain, Commander Warren Bain of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Mrs. Marine Rolle, Mrs. Beverley Finley, Mrs. Nancy Ellis, and Rev. Valderine Pinder of Freeport Grand Bahama, deceased daughter Deloris Bain and recently deceased son Anthony Bain. A beautiful lady, a devoted and faithful wife, a stern and understanding mother, a loving grandmother, a dedicated great – grandmother, a great aunt, a reasonable mother in law, a very caring woman to all and most importantly a fearless woman of God.
